You must consult doctor to get blood investigations to confirm diagnosis. He will advise : haemoglobin, total leucocyte count, differential leucocyte count to know the type of infection : If you are from India and neighbour countries, get dengue serology done. : Peripheral smear will rule out malaria. The treatment of fever is simple : Tablet Paracetamol according to his body weight : Plenty of fluids by oral route. If oral intake is less, the doctor might give intravenous fluids (normal saline, ringer lactate). : To bring temperature down, applying cold compresses is advised. : Give him good nutritional diet to increase immunity. : Some physicians also prescribe vitamin B complex and vitamin C to enhance immunity.
