Why Does The HIV Test Show Positive During 8 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

I went for an hiv test when I was about 8 weeks pregnant and it came out positive, both Elisa and rapid test, my husband then went to do the test 2 weeks later and it came negetive. How can this be, I tested negetive about 4 months ago and I have never been with anyone except my husband for the past 5 years. Is there an explanation as to where I got hiv cause I have not been exposed at all.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

HIV is not only transmitted through sexual contact. Were you exposed to any needles or injections during that period, any blood transfusions, exposure to the blood of a HIV-infected individual on an wounded region (open) of your body, etc. Please write back to me for any further assistance or a more elaborate discussion. I am always here to help.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
