Why Doesn T The Urine Pass Despite Catheter Change?

PT. AGE IS ABOUT 81 (m) YRS AND HE IS BED RIDDEN. ON 18/1 THE CATH. CHANGE FOR URINE PASS TILL 5 PM ON 19/1 URINE DID NOT PASS THEN AGAIN CHANGE THE CATH. AFTER CHANGE THE CATH. SOME BLOOD IS PASSED BUT TILL TIME URINE NOT PASS. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM CAN YOU EXPLAIN AND WHAT WILL DO FOR FURTHER

Hello,

It may be a blood clot that is clogging the catheter. He should have a large hematuria catheter that allows irrigation of the bladder to prevent blood from clotting in his bladder.
