Why Has Gestofit Been Prescribed After Scan Of Gestational Sac?

Hi, I got my last period on 12th of January. On 22nd February my UPT was negative and on 24th february the Blood was also negative(though as per doctor it was little high). On 8th march my UPT came came positive. After scan they said size of gestational sac is 5.4mm. Doctor prescribed me gestofit 200 daily 1 and do scan agian on 25th march. I havce PCOD. Is there anything wrong? I m not getting the date problems.

Hi,

In PCOD, though menstrual cycles appear regular, ovulation may not be regular. In your case, delayed ovulation is perhaps the reason for delayed pregnancy confirmation. There is corpus luteum deficiency observed with PCOD and hence progesterone supplements have been shown to be useful to sustain the pregnancy. Please go for regular follow up and follow your doctor's instructions. Eat healthy and take adequate rest. Everything is going to be well.
