Why Having Fast Heart Beat And High BP During Night?
Wondering why I occasionally wake up during the night with my heart beating fast and BP up.. I am on 2 meds which normally keep it under control. I have been to ER many times and they don t find anything wrong. I am 83 and in good health otherwise.
Hi and welcome to HCM. Blood pressure varies in a day and this is called diurnal variation. It means your BP will show low and high at different times in a day. Pulse rate also varies. If your BP is above 140/90 and causing some symptoms then it has to be considered for treatment. Anyway you are already on anti hypertensive medications and it is suppose to bring your BP under control, if not please report this to your treating doctor and he may change your medications or increase the current dosage. Also restrict salt intake, do physical exercises, cut down fat, manage stress by meditation.
All the best Dr Santosh
