hi doc i am a hypothyroid patient after hashimotto thyrodititis. iam having blood pressure of 120/90 . even after three years of autoimmune disorder my sgpt =45 ; sgot =45 and gamma gt =116; i have high level of cholostrol . iam non alcholic person.what may be the reason and what i should do further
Hello, Good day, One of the commonest cause of elevated liver enzymes is due to fatty liver. However, other causes of elevated liver enzymes to be considered like viral hepatitis and other auto immune disorders affecting liver. You may need an ultrasound of liver, hepatitis serology, lipid profile, blood sugar test and sometimes special blood tests like ANA and anti LKM antibody etc. In your cse high cholesterol hints that you may have fatty liver. Are you on pills for that? Pills used to treat high cholesterol also can cause elevated liver enzymes. You may need to meet an endocrinologist + Hepatologist for sorting out the issues. Regards Binu
