Why Is A CT Scan Recommended For A Suspicious Polyp?

I had a colonoscopy the other day. Dr said there was a suspicious polyp )pedunculated But firm. Said he couldn’t remove it but it was biopsied. I panicked and freaked out. He said if it is anything he’s hopeful that it could just be removed and that’s it. Then he decided to send me for a CT of the abdomen and pelvis why did he do this?

Hello

thank you for trusting HCM

Dear CT is useful to know the polyps location and spread to the colonic wall or to lymphnodes etc...

it is better than colonoscopy so that's why your doctor advised it.

nothing to worry just follow your doctor orders. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.

take care
