Why Is A Teething Child's Nose Having Dry Blood?

My 1 yr old son has been running a temp off and on for about over a week. I took him to the doctor and they said is was probably from teething. He does have some trying to push through. Our concern is we are now seeing dry blood off and on from his nose. And he is starting to cough.
