Why Is My Ankle Hurting?

I hit my ankle near thanksgiving 2011 and it still hurts. I hit it while getting into a truck on the step rail on the inside of my ankle. Now everytime I workout or stand/walk for long periods of time it hurts and if I just hit it. Why is this happening and what can I do to heal it???????

Hello

Ankle sprain can damage the joint leading to arthritis. I recommend to do an X-ray of the ankle and a rheumatoid factor level for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
