Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Dad is 88, he has been in very good health, he is beginnig to become more frail, although has been and is still self reliant. He has been getting more and more hoarse and is now loosing his voice. Is this something to be concerned about. He has smoked most of his life, the last 30 years, the smokeless tobacco
I am sorry to see that you are concerned about your father and a recent change in his voice. Your father was a prior smoker and that put him at greater risk for cancers of the throat and lungs. I agree with your concern that a sudden change in his voice is unusual and should be evaluated by an ENT. I recommend that he be seen soon to have his vocal cords visualized.
Hope this answers your question. Please contact HCM again for your health care questions
