Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband has stomach pain on right upper middle side of stomach, just below the sternum. had salmon patties last night for dinner. Realized it has been in freezer for some time. Could it be food poisoning? No other symptom than pain. Had ginger tea and now burping taste of salmon
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history About your husband having salmon patties which in a fridge for some time, developing pain in upper middle abdomen below sternum. Tools some ginger tea and feeling like salmon burning. The most probable cause is gastritis. I would advise him the following: To take a PPI like Omeprazole, antacid and chilled milk or so. This will probably alleviate his symptoms, continue for a few weeks. If this is a recurrent problem or does not resolve completely, go for upper GI endoscopy and an opinion of a Gastroenterologist.
