Why Is My Husband's Hand Swollen And Ankle, Knees And Elbows Itchy?

My husband worked last night and his hand started swelling and later his ankle, knees and elbows. I see that is very visible on the left side…. Also he had a rash and it was itchy. He was itching his feet. I worry because both of his parents died of cancer.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The combination of symptoms , itchy rash with swelling sounds like an allergic reaction to some agent.

He should consider the use of an antihistamine. There are drowsy and non drowsy options available. In general the drowsy antihistamines tend to be more effective.

Examples are diphenhydramine, chlorphenamine, loratidine, cetrizine

I hope this helps
