Why Is My Other Ear Ringing Louder Than My Tinnitus Affected One?

Hi, Last night around 2am playing around with my girlfriend, she slapped me in the ear, I thought my eardrum popped, but I can hear pretty well out of it but it sounds kinda like I m under water and I can t feel it has this numbing feeling. I have tested positive for tinnitus but my right ear that I got slapped in the ringing is louder than my left one, will this cure up or do I need surgery?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to HCM.

Firstly, you needd to consult a ENT surgeon and through examinations like otoscopy that help visualise the tympanic membrane, it will be easier to determine the amount of damage caused to the ear drum .

Usually most traumatic ruptured eardrums heal within three four months. However a course of antibiotic is required to prevent infection along with analgesics.

Hope this answers your query .
