Why Is My Period Not Stopped Even After Taking Taking Norethisterone?

I have been taking norethisterone for 3 days to make sure I don t come on my period as am going on holiday on the 3rd day I have started bleeding lightly I don t understand why? I have took norethisterone before for holidays and had no problems can you tell me why it s not stopped my period from coming?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. To postpone a menstrual period, the dosage of progesterone should be sufficient. If you used the same dosage and for the same duration as earlier but still experienced spotting, this is possibly due to lowered inherent hormone availability which can happen with sudden weight changes, stress, infections, use of certain medications and cysts of the ovary.
