General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The cause of less urine flow indicates urethral narrowing via prostate enlargement.

In my clinic, I advise to get diagnostic cystoscopy done for the evaluation of urethral passage and if I find the narrowing at that time, same time, I go for VIU procedure (which is to open up the narrowed urethra) and keep urethral catheter to get it healed over a period of time.

The need for associated laser therapy for prostate is required or not is best to be decided by the treating urosurgeon only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
