Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Heart rate and blood pressure has inverse relationship. It has nothing to do with osteoarthritis and it can happen with anyone with poor cardiac status. It is because heart is a pump, if it is pumping slow then it causes low BP and that causes our body to increase heart rate. I would suggest you to show him to a cardiologist. Is he taking any blood pressure medication as these drug causes BP and heart rate to fall, i hope after meeting with caridiologist you will be able to take care of your father in a better way.
