Why Is The Six Month Old Baby Crying All Day Long?

A woman I know very well, had a baby....6mth old little girl. Her husband over dosed the day after she gave birth, obviously passed away. She was staying w/ her mother and due to domestic violence, had to leave...she had no where to stay & I let her stay w/ me & my son over the wkend. Her daughter cried, literally, all day!! It broke my heart, bc I did not know what to do to calm & soothe her. It was not normal!!
This is not my child....I was trying to seek "professional" answers, in hopes of some "free" advice

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your concern and helpful attitude.
There are various reasons for baby to cry.
-hunger/wet nappy/boredom/want attention/colic/any underlying infective process like pain in ear.
But most important to differentiate if it is due to some disease is to observe activity of child.
If she is active and accepting feeds normally, passing stools and urine properly then nothing to worry.
If not then she needs to be examined by doctor.
Hope this helps.
Take care..
