Why Metamucil And Ducolace Doesn T Help To Recover From Constipation?

Hi, my sister takes several medications and she has horrible constipation, she takes Metamucil and ducolace, but does not get relief. She has to take an anti phycotic called prolixin, and something for mini seizures called keppra. She also takes limictil, vitamin b complex, multi vitamin, fish oil, calcium, alandronate for ostioperosis. She also takes a pill for acid reflux. Is there something that we can try over the counter to give her some relief? She drinks lots of water , but it does not help. Thanks you for your time.

Hi,

Constipation is not the disease condition in real but it is due to some diet and even due to poly therapy taking too much medicine, it is most advisable to cut down the medicine which is not most indicated, drink more water, have more fibber containing diet, keep regular habit of going to defecation be there even in absence of need of this, do not exert the force, no matter if you do not pass the stool, Isabgol can be tried.
