Why So Many Medications Are Not Dosed As Per The Body Weight?

Hi, I am wondering why so many medications are not dosed for body weight? Pediatric doses always seem to be worked out on weight (or sometimes body surface area), so why not adults? For example if 500-1000mg paracetamol is a therapeutic dose for a 50kg woman, why doesn't an obese 150kg man take 3000mg?

Hello

Thanks for the query

Adult dosing is slightly different than pediatric dosing. It is not given as per weight as some adults are over weight and some of them are under weight. This is to prevent under or over dosing of the drugs.
