Why Stomach Is Feeling Bloated And Having Bowel Obstruction After Hysterectomy?
Before my hysterectomy 9 years ago, I had a very flat stomach..............I am now constantly bloated and look like I am 4 months pregant. What could possibly have gone wrong? I have also had two bowel obstructions since the surgery!!! I always feel uncomfortable in my clothes.
The symptoms are apparently due to partial obstruction of the colon.
Sometimes, adhesions (band-like scar tissues) develop after hysterectomy or any abdominal surgery. At times, these adhesions compress the intestine, leading to partial obstruction. Colonoscopy will reveal the exact cause of partial obstruction of the intestine.
Treatment would depend on the cause of obstruction.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and evaluate for the exact cause of chronic intestinal obstruction.
