Why Were Dissolvable Tablets Which Are Causing Vomit With Clear, Foamy Mucous Prescribed For Treating Cough?
My daughter has recently been treated for crop cough to exact on Thursday nite. She was given dissolvable tablets which she took for three days , however she has been vomiting a clear foamy like mucus and I am not sure why could you advise on this ? Thanks
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
You have not mentioned the age of your daughter. In children during the respiratory tract infection, more than usual sputum might get swallowed by the child, which might come out as a vomit. However, some children vomit out due to the unacceptable taste of the medicines. If I were your child's doctor, I would advise more for steam inhalation, and replace the tablets with syrup if I feel this to be responsible for the vomiting.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
