Hello,
Hair loss commonly occurs due to hormonal changes, poor general health condition, anemia, poor diet,
vitamin deficiency, ringworm infection, dandruff, stress, genetics (inheritance), etc. Sometimes, in men it may occur due to high level of
dihydrotestosterone. Underlying health conditions like overactive or underactive thyroid can cause hair fall.
Autoimmune diseases or high or low blood pressure can also affect the blood flow to the hair follicles and hence loss of hair. You are suggested to keep your scalp clean. Use Selsun shampoo to wash your hair daily. Use coconut oil or almond oil on your hair and scalp. Rule out jock itch,
psoriasis, etc., with your
dermatologist. They can be treated with antifungal medication and antibiotics.
Get T3, T4, TSH done. Get routine complete medical examination and routine tests done to rule out thyroid problems, anemia, hormonal imbalance, vitamin deficiency, any genetic disorder, etc. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. Any underlying health condition will be treated. In the meantime, avoid taking processed and packaged food. You can take
acetaminophen, one stat when needed to get rid of body ache.
Take home-made nutritious food, spinach, eggs, food rich in
vitamin A and
vitamin E, food rich in omega 3 fatty acids, nuts-seeds, citrus fruits, wheat grains for biotin, etc. You can also take supplements but a balance, nutritious home-made food is better. Stay away from addictions.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
