Will I Gain Weight After Surgery For Enlarged Spleen Surgery?
i am 40 years old female who after surgery in 2000 for a illiostomy and after 12 years of constant transfusions i have now been told ian enlarged spleen is the cause of my anemia and will have it removed this year. will i gain weight after this procedure as at the moment im underweight and would like to gain.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. The reason for the anemia may be the iliostomy, enlarged spleen, or some other common causes like colitis, anchylostoma duodinale worms in the intestine, or malnutrition etc. You can have the removal of the spleen, still you should follow some other common treatments. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms albendazole, ofloxacin, ornidazole, and ranitidine. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
