Will I Have Bladder Issues After Uterus Removal Due To Multiple Fibroids?

I m considering removal of just the uterus due to multiple!! fibroids--4, 5, and 6 cm and many to numerous to count. My uterus is the size of a 16 week pregnancy I ve been told after an ultrasound. Will I have issues with my bladder? and if so, what can I expect? Can this procedure be done with a laproscopic (sp?) procedure? Thanks for responding.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Yes, there are a few chances you could have bladder issues like either incontinence or retention, but these are usually temporary, and even if not, can be addressed.

As for the hysterectomy, yes it can be done laparoscopically ma'am.

Hope this helps.

Best of luck.
