I was taking one 20mg tablet per day of Lisinopril combined with HCT (25 mg). I was also taking 240 mg of Cardizem to reduce my heart rate. I have a blood pressure cuff at home and take it periodically throughout the day. I was noticing that my blood pressure went up at night (135/88 - 144/88). During the day, my blood pressure was always under control and sometimes was very low (95/55). My pulse was always around 65. My doctor originally prescribed two Lisinopril/HCT per day with the Cardizem and I thought my blood pressure was way too low, so I cut my dosage down to one pill per day. With my blood pressure going up at night, I decided to experiment and start taking two of the Lisinopril/HCT and not take the Cardizem at all. My blood pressure is now typically 117/65 or thereabouts, even at night. My heart rate runs anywhere from 77 - 88. Is this normal? I am 5 4 , weigh 128, and am 60 years old. I exercise every day for about 30 minutes. Exercise includes stretches, weights, and some cardiovascular. Thanks for your help.
