Will MONTEK-LC Weekly One Cause Any Problem In Long Run?
Hi, I am 28 years old and i am allergic to dust. Upon doctors presciption, i am taking MONTEK-LC from last 4 years. ( weekly one tablet) . i will increase the number of tablets in winter season. is it good to continue this medication, as i feel it may cause problem in long run,..
Hi, If your allergic reactions are controlled by Montek-LC (Monteleukast- Levocetrizine), then I would suggest you to continue taking it. Though some side effects are possible with this medication, the risks are very less and also your frequency of taking it once a week further reduces the risk. The next option might be steroids to control your allergic symptoms which is not desirable over Montek-LC because of higher risks of side effects. Do take Montek-LC and have a regular follow-up. If there are any emerging side effects, medications may be stopped and those things are usually reversible and can be treated. Also try to minimise the exposure to all the allergens. This will also help in reducing the symptoms. I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day. Take care.
