My grandson has had a fever ranging from 100 to 102 for the last 24 hours. He has a slight cough but no runny nose. He is weak feeling and has no appetite. I am giving him Motrin for the fever. He is 7 years old and weights 46 lbs. He also isn t wanting to drink much.

Thanks for the query
For his fever please give him calpol/crocin (6ml of calpol 250/6ml of crocin DS) which can be repeated after 5 hours if needed depending on his fever.
Give him nutritious home made food whatever he is happy and willing to take, specially when his temperature is on the lower side.
Watch out for any new symptoms like (vomitings/loose motions/pain in the throat etc.) which may help to figure out the site of infection or to some extent the cause of his fever.
In case his fever and appetite shows signs of improvement over the next few days (3-4) nothing more is needed otherwise an opinion by a doctor is a wise option.
Mortin is a vitamin which has no effect directly on the fever or on the cause of fever.
