Will Norco And Soma Show Up In The Urine Test?

Hi! I was just offered my dream job as an English Teacher. I just had abdominoplasty with muscle repair 6 weeks ago and I still take an occasional prescribed Norco 10/325 tab and/or Soma 350. I had my physical and urine test today. I was upfront with the doctor and told him about my surgery and prescriptions, just in case they showed up on the urine test. If I test positive, will it preclude me from getting the job?

Since you are on a prescribed narcotic and muscle relaxant that you informed them about before the test, you should be okay. If you have taken the Norco very recently, it very well could show up on the test. It is important to tell the people doing drug testing what prescription drugs you are taking before the test, so they know to account for this. Since you did this, there should not be a problem if a narcotic shows up. It should not preclude you from the job. Hope this answers your query.
