Will Provera Taken During Early Stage Pregnancy Affect The Fetus?

My doctor gave 10mg tablets of Provera for irregular periods for 10 days but even after 2 weeks I did not get periods. Then when I did a test, I got to know that I am pregnant and they told me that I am pregnant for 8 weeks and 2 days. Is there any kind of side-effects, doctor?
