Will TURBT Be Successful And What Are The Side Effects?

I am worried, my husband is scheduled to have a TURBT because there is a "mass" or tumor in his bladder which I assume has to be removed. What are the down sides to this procedure? How successful are these procedures. Also, last biopsy was inconclusive. Thanks for your help.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, let me assure you, that TURBT is a routine procedure.
All depends on factors like, size of tumor, location, involvement of kidneys or tubes from kidney to bladder(ureter),etc, and condition of patient.
For this, reports of urine, blood, Ct-IVU scan of kidneys, ureters and bladder, must be known. Why was last biopsy inconclusive.
If you can send these details to me, as a direct question, i can give you an expert opinion.
