Will Amoxicillin Taken With Cough Syrup Help Deal With Dry Cough?

My mother aged 72 years, residing in Baroda, Gujarat, India, is suffering from dry cough since six months. She generally coughs while she falls asleep. She is administered Cough Syrup, sometimes inhales vapour (Eucalyptus oil mixed in boiling water); also taken complete course of Clavam 625 [Amoxicillin and Potassium Clavulanate], 10 Tablets in a strip.
Kindly advice for quick recovery and relieve.

If this cough only occurs when she lies down, it may signal a heart problem. Cough syrup and antibiotics would not be helpful in this case. I will like that you get her for a complete medical evaluation so that the cause of this cause can be identified and managed accordingly. Does you mother need pillows to sleep comfortably at night? can she lie down flat without this cough?
