Will Domstol And Econorm Treat Loose Stools And Loss Of Appetite?
My daughter is passing loose stools (neither diarrhea nor regular stools, 3 times a day for the last 2 days) and I had been to a doctor. She is not feeling hungry. Pediatrician advised me to give her domstol 3.5 ml 3 times a day (20 mins prior to her meals) and econorm. Just wanted to get a second opinion about these medicines. My daughter is 3 yr old.
Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day
Domstal is gastric motility increasing drug and is helpful in treatment of vomiting due to gastro-oesophageal reflux. Econorm is probiotic and is helpful in loose motion Every baby is unique and so is their bowel frequency. Its quite common for babies to pass stools after every feeds. Its due to hyperactive gastro-olic reflex. Distension of stomach by feeds, will promote peristaltic activity in colon and causing evacuation of stools.
If there are no signs of dehydration, baby is accepting feeds well, no redness in anal region then there seems to be no cause for concern
