Will I Have Side Effects If I Switch From Generess To Minastrin?

I am currently on Generess (for uterine fibroids), but my new insurance plan has this as an excluded drug. It has been suggested to use Minastrin instead, but I noticed it has a higher dosage of norethindrone than Generess. Should I be concerned? Will I have side effects if I switch? Should I take the medication in a particular order or way since I m switching?

Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

You can shift from generess to Minastrin. It is same. No issues to shift, as both contain norethindrone/ethinylestradiol.

BUT because you have not provided your detailed history and also the dosage of the generess you are on, I can't comment on dosage for minastrin. So, for dosage and specific preparation of minastrin which you should take, please ask me a follow-up question by going to my profile and clicking on Ask me a question. I will be back with you in no time.

Don't forget to add detailed history and medical reports (if you have any) and medication details especially for Generess. You may upload a photo of Generess packing to getter even better assistance.

Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
