Will Increase In TSH Levels Cause Headaches?

hello,
Total thyroidectomy was done to me about an year ago and I was on eltroxin since then. My free T4 levels have been alright but TSH levels are gradually increasing and two weeks back it was 97. Since few days I am getting bouts of severe headache. Doctor told me that I am not taking eltroxin properly and asked me to take early in the morning one hour before breakfast. Can you please explain, why my TSH levels are so high when T4 levels are normal and why I am getting these terrible headaches?

The thyroid gland is regulated by a negative feedback loop.So when the TSH is high ,the thyroid hormones (T3,T4,freeT3,freeT4)are low.If the level of your TSH is increasing this means that you are becoming Hypothyroid even on eltroxin. So the logic is that the dose of eltroxin that you are taking for the moment is not enough(you must increase the dose)or like your doctor said ,you are not taking eltroxin properly.Thyroid diseases, including hypothyroidism, are among the conditions now know to often be comorbid with headaches and Migraines. A strong connection has been found between hypothyroidism and new daily persistent headache. So the reason of your headache can be your hypothyroid actual state.
