Will Marijuana Interfere With Iv Sedation Of Colonoscopy?

I have a dual colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow afternoon. I recently started my period as well and my usual remedy is to smoke marijuana. I wanted to know if doing so will severely interfere with the iv sedation that will be administered prior to the procedures.

hello,
I can understand your concern for your query.
1) you must require sedation as you have being planned to do both procedure at a time.
2) smoking marijuana definitely will interfere dosage requirement and level of deepness of sedation.
3) Ideally, you must discuss this with your treating doctor so that he will be aware of this during the procedure.
4) It is recommended to discontinue smoking marijuana for 7-10 days before the procedure.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any further doubts, I would be happy to help you.
Have a nice day!
