Will One Contract Hiv From A Toilet Paper With Blood In It?

I pregnant and yesterday I had to use a public bathroom. I first flushed the restroom and they proceeded to use it. after I was done I realized there was a piece of left over toilet paper in it from the previous person with a drop of blood on it. Can I contract HIV from backslash as I urinated.

thank you for query.if you have not come in contact with the blood or if you have no abrasions or wounds in the area of contact of blood you need not bother at all.Relax and do not worry.Skin is an effective barrier. If any open wound has come in contact or your mucus membrane with any abrasion then also chances are very less.all blood need not be infective.the blood on toilet paper would have dried and HIV do not survive for long in environment. So there is no possibility of HIV from the mode described. You can get back directly to me for any clarifications .Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist.
