Will Operation Solve DNS In Nose Causing Difficulty In Breathing?
Hi, I did a CT scan for my nose, to test a DNS issue. I showed it to an ENT doctor who prescribed medicines named Allrite DC and Moxicip for 10 days along with nasal drops. He suggested there is no need for an operation and that the medicines should take care of the condition. He also suggested to limit cold beverages etc since I am prone to cold. But the breathing still feels somewhat blocked, should I consult another doctor, and get the operation done? Does this operation solve the problem for good, or can it re-surface again?
In reference to your query regarding improvement in breathing by operation for DNS.
Here I would like to tell you that nasal obstruction in breathing is by-
1- Deviated septum blocks the air passage.
2- Mucosal swelling by inflammation of nasal mucosa.
3- Hypertrophied turbinates.
Contribution of all above vary case to case in creating nasal obstruction. So it depends on the amount of deviation in DNS patients. After correction of DNS your amount of obstruction created by deviation will finish up while hypertrophied turbinates if there that should also be taken care of for getting complete relief.
Once the nasal passage becomes adequate and obstruction free by surgery than automaticaly episodes of allergic cold gets reduce.
Probably your query is answered.
Regards.
