Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

It is good that you have decided to come out of your habitual intake of diazepam. If I were your doctor, I would also try to reduce the dose of diazepam gradually over several weeks to months depending on your tolerability specially when you are used it for such a long time of 7 years duration. It also depends on you how quickly you can overcome the effects of this. I am sure everything would be ok with you with this gradual reducing dosage regime although you might have to be under the supervision of your physician for some time.

Apart from this, I would like to suggest you for relaxing exercises, morning walk and jogging depending on your medical fitness. Take healthy nutritious diet and also avoid any alcoholic beverages.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
