Will Taking Cortisone Shot Be Safe For Tonsillitis?

I had tonsillitis last month and received a cortisone shot and a prescription. My period is one week late. I have taken two pregnancy tests that came back negative. I have been extremely stressed since I have yet to have my period. I had pms symptoms but my period never came. I dot have any pregnancy symptoms. Could the shot affect my period in such a way?
