Will Taking Ibprophen Be Safe For Fever?

My daughter is 5 and for the past 3 days she's had a fever on and off. Sometimes the ibprophen and tylenol help for about 20 minutes and then she's right back where she was. Her eyes are red and bloodshot and she's constantly tired. Should I take her to the ER?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. Ibuprofin and Acetaminophen are both safe for a 5 year old. Though it is not necessary to take her to an ER, fever that persists for 3 days and beyond should be checked out. I recommend you consult with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment plan implemented.
