Will The Bumps Formed After Bleeding Due To An Injury On Lips Heal By Themselves?
Hi, a few months ago (let's say in september or october) I was playing around when suddenly I got hit in my lip. It hurt immediately and then I noticed it started bleeding. Right away I ran to the bathroom and noticed it was swollen and there was a cut on my lip where I guess it got cut my tooth. For a while the swelling and the bruising stayed and the cut had formed a scab. Now everything seems almost normal again, except I have a lump on the inside of my lip where the cut was, which is visible sometimes because it bumps out. Will that ever go away? Some days it seems smaller and less visible and some days not so much. I never got stitches I just let my lip heal on its own. Please help!!!!
Hello and welcome to HCM, The injury described by you is a cut injury by your tooth. Injury is followed by plugging of the ruptured blood vessels and healing of the cut. Injury and healing are characterised by inflammation and formation of granulation tissue. The granulation tissue is slightly tougher than the normal skin. Healing is also accompanied by scab formation. There is nothing to worry. The scab and the scar will disappear with passage of time.
