Will The Completion Of Microgynon 50 ED Medication Cause The Period To Start?

I was previously taking Monofeme for contraception, I was spotting inbetween placebo pills, and my doctor changed my contraception to Microgynon 50 ED. I have just finished my period cycle with monofeme, and I am confused with how I will start with Microgynon 50 ED, because the packet specifies to start in the red section, the section includes the placebo pills. Does that mean I will have my period again? and does that mean that every time i finish each packet, my cycle will start with a period?

Yes, once you finish the active pills and start the other pills (placebo), then your period would start.

When you finish these 7 days of placebo pills, you can restart the active contraception.
There are some women who use 2 or 3 packs back to back , reducing the frequency of the cycle.
This means that they would only have the period after the completing either the 2 or 3 packs.

This is an option that would have to be discussed with your doctor.
