Will The Periods Come Just Within A Couple Of Days Span ?
Hi i need help please help me. I just got my period a couple of days ago. tomorrow i have a 3k run in gym and im nervous if i am going to get blood stains on my pants? I wont wear a tampon so dont tell me too. i am really nervous and im 13 years old.
First of all, it is normal to be nervous about having an accident with your period. However, most women do not get blodstains on their clothes unless they are bleeding very heavily or not wearing any protection.
However, modern maxi pads are designed to prevent leaks so using a brand that has "wings" that protect your underwear on the sides can be helpful, especially if you are active. If you wear tight undies and change your pad right before the run, unless you bleed very heavily, you shouldn't have a problem.
If this is your first period ever, the first few days usually has the heaviest bleeding and it gradually gets lighter in amount and darker in color. Most girls have their first period for a week to ten days.
If you are having cramps, taking Ibuprofen (Motrin) or another pain reliever before the race will make you feel better.
I hope this helped make you less nervous about the race.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
