Will The Rash Be Due To Passive Smoke?

I had a new roommate move in recently. He likes to smoke (quite a bit) in the house. I believe I may have developed a rash from the second-hand smoke. Do I need to see a doctor? I'm a 19 year old female on birth control (Seasonique) and I have never done any sort of drug.

Hello,

Passive smoking causes serious harm to health, it puts you at risk of COPD, long term and short term pulmonary diseases, throat, larynx, breast and nasal sinus cancer. Avoid second hand smoke by going in areas that are 100% smoke free. Using air conditioning, using a fan or opening a window does not eliminate second hand smoke.

Passive smoking may cause skin allergy or adverse reactions like rashes, skin disorders like psoriasis, delayed wound healing and more infections. Seasonique may cause rashes if you have sensitive skin, you may switch to other BC method for a couple of days. In the meantime, take antihistamines and apply calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream in the area affected by rashes. If possible change roommate. Take care of your hygiene, take regular bath.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
