Will The Swelling On Foot And Ankle Be Due To Cilacar-10?
I am a diabetic with BP patient. I am taking RePace-50 in the morning and RePace-25 in the evening. As per advise of Dr., since last one week I am taking Cilacar-10 in the night instead of RePace-25. Thereafter developed swelling on the foot & angle. Is it due to side effect of Cilacar-10 ? Please advise. Over
Hi & Welcome to HCM. I appreciate your concern for the safety of Cilacar-10.
Yes, Cilacar can cause swelling around the ankle.
It (Cilnidepine) belongs to group of calcium channel blockers. The common side effects of these drugs include constipation, swelling around the ankle and feet, increased heart beat, etc.
Whereas the use of RePace is not associated with such symptoms. You are therefore advised to consult your treating physician to rule out other causes of swollen ankles (by urine analysis, kidney function tests) and to use an alternate but safer drug to control your high BP.
Hope to have answered your query. Regards.
