Will The Weight Gain Be Due To Apro-Sotalol Medicine?

I have been on Apro-Sotalol for 8 weeks, taking 40mg morning and night, have gained 3 kilos during this time, am seeing specialist soon as he is going to increase to 80mg morning and night, however my weight gain is extremely uncomfortable and as this is a new medication I am on, was wondering if the tablets were the problem as I am not doing anything different

Indirectly YES. Stress hormones are blocked by Sotalol. Not having them results in decreased motivation and even full depression in some people and it is not a rare side effect. The change in activity will cause weight gain. This is neither the majority of people on it nor directly due to the sotolol but there is a strong reason why it might occur.
