Will Use Of Dipsolic F Ointment For Psoriasis In Pregnancy Cause Birth Defect In Child?

Hi, I am 26 yrs old and i am in my first trimester pregnancy. I have psoriasis and took homeopathy medication when i was in 6th grade. It almost got cured and sometimes i see some psoriasis rashes on my right hand fingers. Whenever i see it i used to apply dipsolic F ointment for a day or two before i conceived. i never used after i got pregnant. Can you clarify if this ointment effects my baby...i ready this ointment may cause birth defects if we use during pregnancy.

Hi, I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. Actually, well controlled studies have not been carried out in humans to verify that but studies in animals show that it can cause birth defects. In humans, it can be used during pregnancy only in conditions where benefits outweigh risk. In my opinion, I would advise you not to use it in the first trimester.
I hope I have answered your query
I wish you good health
