Will Work Out And Losing Weight Affect My Growth Rate?

Hi i am a 16 year old. I am 175 cm and weigh about 80 kg. If i start to work out and lose weight, will it improve my growth rate? Also i eat a lot of meat; will this affect my growth rate and also give me any kind of illness in the future? My parent are 172 and 165 cm; will i stop growing around at this age? Thank you.

Hello,

I guess you're male, although you haven't mentioned your sex. Since you've become taller than your parents and you're already 16, no significant height gain is expected in the future, although it can't be totally excluded.
If you include all the necessary nutrients in your diet then you shouldn't worry about loosing weight. Your body is going to loose some fat only.
If your diet does not include all the nutrients then loosing muscle or even deterring bone growth may occur.

Eating a lot of meat might be beneficial regarding your iron requirements (due to puberty) but it's not a good habit for the future. Red meat should not be used more than once per week. Poultry (and other 'white' meat) can be used 3-4 times per week.

I hope I've helped!
You can contact me again, if you'd like more information.

Kind Regards!
