Worried For Increased Mucus After Bowel Resection

I had a bowel resection about 4 weeks ago - a tumor was found with colitis. I have had ongoing diarrhea/loose stools since. For the past 4 days I have had lots of mucus in the stools. I am increasing my diet with more regular foods instead of soup/soft diet - is this increase in mucus a normal post-op process?

HI
This is a normal consequence of the surgery and it should resolve itself in another month or two. But you should let your doctor know about it
