My friend accidentally stabbed me with a writing pen before, it bled a little, and I m not sure if ink got in. It s now came up in a small raised blue lump around the area (kinda like a bruise) and my hand (where she stabbed me) feels a bit tingly. Should I be worried?
hello! your lump could be due to blood pooling (hematoma) on the area where you got stabbed that is why there is also discoloration/bruising. There are also a lot of nerve endings in the hand, and the swelling in the area could cause the tingling. I suggest you just placed a warm compress around the area if the accident is more than 24hours already (an ice compress will help if it is less than 24hours). You can also take over the counter anti inflammatory medications if you are not allergic to it. If it persist despite of these tips, you need to set an appointment with a physician to thoroughly examine the lump.
